Applications Overview

Purified water

Purified Water, also known as Aqua Purificata, is an essential raw material. Large quantities are frequently required. It is produced on-site, directly from the potable water that is available. The European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.), as well as the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) and the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (ChP), set out clear thresholds for purified water quality at the point of use.

Water for Injection

Water for Injection (WFI) is an important raw material. It is often required in large quantities and therefore has to be generated on-site, directly from the available potable water. The European Pharmacopoeia, as well as the United States Pharmacopoeia and the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, set out clear quality criteria. Water purity is clearly defined with threshold values for the microbiological load in the form of colony-forming units, conductivity and quantity of organic carbon.

Pure Steam

Heat reliably kills germs. Saturated steam is therefore a convenient, safe choice in some applications. Pure Steam is vaporized at over 100° Celsius. Primary uses are for safe sterilization of primary packaging for sterile medicines, goods in sterilizers and autoclaves, or manufacturing components that come into contact with the product.
